PRESENTATION #13: Jordan
Amman, the Dead Sea, Petra and Jerash
Come play in the sand with us as we step foot in the Middle East. We may have been timid to venture to Jordan but the hospitality of the people and incredible sights made our time extremely enjoyable. We traveled by car from the bustling capitol city of Amman along the Kings Highway exploring the country from top to bottom. We ticked off a site on our bucket list after making our way to the jaw dropping city of Petra to live out our childhood dreams.
PRESENTATION #14: Northern Thailand
Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai
See for yourself why we continue visiting this amazing country year after year. The magical capital city of Bangkok recruits more tourists each year than even romantic Paris. Chiang Mai bursts with excitement, ranging from weekend markets and incredible festivals to impressive holy Wats and some of the best food we’ve ever eaten. Further north in Chiang Rai lies the famous white temple but our favorite will always be the stunning blue temple.
PRESENTATION #15: Borneo
Gunung Mulu National Park, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu
The island of Borneo, split between Malaysia and Indonesia, is home to one of the oldest rainforests in the world. Our time there provided us unmatched encounters with orangutans and other wildlife. While visiting Mulu National Park thousands of bats slept over our heads while exploring Deer Cave, while on the Kinabantangan River at Uncle Tan’s the jungle sparkled at night with eyes of more spiders than Jessie cared to know existed!
PRESENTATION #16: Vietnam Local Life
Can Tho, Hoi An and Tam Coc
Few countries have such a wide variety of cultures like Vietnam. Twice a year, much of this picturesque country glows bright green with seas of rice fields stretching as far as you can see. Primitive methods of survival still exist in the mighty Mekong Delta where locals participate in floating markets to sell their crops. Further north in the small town of Tam Coc, you’ll find the inland Halong Bay. Saturated with karst formations, it’s perhaps the most beautiful spot in all of Vietnam.
PRESENTATION #17: Hong Kong
Victoria Harbor, The Peak, Lantu Island, Midlevels and Man Mo Temple
In the bustling country of Hong Kong, it’s easy to be a bit overwhelmed. Here you’ll find twice as many skyscrapers as anywhere in the world. Yet, beneath the surface local dim sum restaurants provide the perfect rest. Crowds gather at the harbor to enjoy the nightly sound and light show dancing on the faces of the buildings. Away from the concrete jungle sits a statue of Buddha, towering 112 feet tall while monks prepare delicious vegetarian meals daily for visitors.
PRESENTATION #18: Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Cameron Highlands, Malacca and Perhentian Islands
In a world the average tourist seldom explores lies the magic of Malaysia. Rainbow colored stairs lead to the entrance of the Batu Caves, home to eager macaques seeking an easy meal from unsuspecting tourists. In Kuala Lumpur we found abundant diversity, each culture living peacefully with one another. The Perhentian islands however, stole the show with crystal clear water offering perfect visibility for an underwater world filled with exotic sea life.
